A Ginevra rivive lo spirito delle Olimpiadi per gli artisti

“Quando sportivi e artisti competono su scenari internazionali, tacciano le armi!”; con queste parole Emilio Isgrò, Maestro delle “cancellature”, ha partecipato alla cerimonia di lancio dell’iniziativa “Modern Olymp’Arts 2023“ che ha avuto luogo a Ginevra, Svizzera, nella sede del Palazzo delle Nazioni Unite, alla presenza di giornalisti, diplomatici e rappresentanti del mondo dell’arte. La manifestazione è stata sponsorizzata dalla Rappresentanza permanente della Costa d’Avorio.
Modern Olymp’Arts è una competizione tra artisti di tutto il mondo e si avvale attualmente di accordi di cooperazione con oltre 100 istituzioni ufficiali e organizzazioni internazionali in 60 paesi.
L’idea di far competere gli artisti sulla falsariga delle gare sportive vide la luce nell’antica Grecia nel 566 a.C.: nell’antico calendario greco, ogni quattro anni, “il terzo anno dopo ogni Olimpiade”,
venivano organizzate e promosse attività artistiche in località sacre scelte di volta in volta.
Il rilancio di quest’antica tradizione si rivolge a tutti gli artisti che ne vogliano accogliere l’ispirazione, e li invita a partecipare senza alcun vincolo di età o di cultura. Specialisti di tutti i settori e specializzazioni saranno ben accolti. Obiettivo principale dell’iniziativa è confermare il ruolo dell’arte nella costruzione di un mondo migliore, promuovendo l’incontro persone con diversa estrazione culturale che sappiano realizzare opere dell’ingegno creativo idonee a riflettere valori di universalità, estetica, armonia e non violenza in un sano spirito competitivo.
Marc Verriere, Presidente Fondatore dell’IOAC (International Olymp’Arts Committee) ha concentrato il suo intervento di apertura della Conferenza stampa, sulla storia e lo sviluppo della sua creatura e sui preparativi per il 1° Concorso Internazionale.
La signora Rachel Qin (Qin Wen), presidente esecutivo dell’IOAC, in quanto cinese, ha dichiarato di volere assumere la rinascita delle “Olimpiadi dell’Arte” come sua missione, nell’intento di ulteriormente integrare la cultura e l’arte cinesi nel più ampio contesto possibile: “la cultura cinese privilegia da sempre l’armonia, l’integrazione e le simbiosi e questo retaggio storico è tanto più valido oggi, in un clima di incertezza e talvolta di smarrimento per un incerto futuro“.

In Geneva the revival of the Olympic competitions for arts

“When sportsmen and artists compete on international scenarios, weapons should stop their deadly tasks”: with these words Emilio Isgrò, Master of the “erasures” participated in the launch ceremony of the “Modern Olymp’Arts 2023” initiative which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, at the headquarters of the United Nations, at the presence of journalists, diplomats and representatives of the art world. The event was sponsored by the Permanent Representation of the Ivory Coast.
Modern Olymp’Arts is a competition between artists from all over the world and currently has cooperation agreements with over 100 official institutions and international organizations in 60 countries. The idea of making artists compete along the lines of sports competitions saw the light in ancient Greece in 566 BC: in the ancient Greek calendar, every four years, “the third year after each Olympiad”, artistic activities were organized and promoted in sacred places chosen from time to time.
The revival of this ancient tradition focuses on international artists who want to share its inspiration, and invites them to participate without any limit of age or culture. Specialists from all sectors and specializations are welcome. The main objective of the initiative is to confirm the role of art in building a better world, and encourages the dialogue of people with different cultural background who know how to create works of creative ingenuity suitable for reflecting values of universality, aesthetics, harmony and non-violence in a solid competitive spirit.
Mr. Marc Verriere, Founding President of the IOAC (International Olymp’Arts Committee) focused on the history and development of his creation and on the preparations for the 1st International Competition. Ms. Rachel Qin (Qin Wen), IOAC executive chairman, as a Chinese, said she wants to take the revival of the “Art Olympics” as her mission, with a view to further integrating Chinese culture and art in the widest possible context: “Chinese culture has always favored harmony, integration and symbiosis and this historical legacy is all the more valid today, in a climate of uncertainty due to a dubious future”.
